Supercomputer System Manager

The IBS Center for Climate Physics (ICCP) at Pusan National University (PNU) is currently seeking a highly motivated System Administrator to maintain and operate the Aleph supercomputer at the IBS headquarters in Daejeon. The start date will be January 1st, 2017, or earlier. The position is full-time, with benefits and a competitive salary.

Responsibilities

The Computer System Administrator will be responsible for an efficient and secure operation of the Cray XC-50-LC Aleph supercomputing system (hardware and software) and other computing infrastructures at the ICCP, including the parallel Lustre file system, an IBM tape archive, and a climate data server.

Job Skills

  • Korean (spoken and written), English (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Mac OS X/Linux/UNIX System Administration
  • Enthusiasm to work in an international work environment
  • Configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of computers, software, storage, and network
  • Coordinate installation of new computing equipment (software and hardware).
  • Shell scripting and automation
  • Server security expertise and status monitoring of HPC systems
  • Experience with computer server hardware

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), master’s degree (preferred)
  • > 5 years of work experience as a Computer Systems Administrator, or a similar role
