The East Asian workshop on Climate Dynamics took place

From May 22nd to 24th 2019, ICCP hosted the “East Asian workshop on Climate Dynamics”. As part of the workshop, Masahiro Watanabe (University of Tokyo), Yen-Ting Hwang (National Taiwan University), Sarah Kang (UNIST), Masakazu Yoshimori (University of Tokyo), and Fei-Fei Jin (University of Hawaiʻi) gave lectures on a wide range of climate topics. About 80 people attended the open lecture series. These included, for instance, a study on future extreme events in a warmer climate, research on tropical climate and polar climate respectively, as well as their inter-connections.

The remainder of the workshop consisted of scientific talks and discussions led by the participating students and postdocs from ICCP, UNIST, NTU, and the University of Tokyo. A major goal of the workshop was to facilitate future collaborations between the visiting research groups and provide a science training opportunity for the visiting students.
