Today we will consider dispersion in a Lagrangian framework and look at the classic GI Taylor paper “Dispersion by continuous movements”. We introduce the concept of anomalous dispersion, an example of which is given by Lévy flights. We will end by looking at the dispersion induced by the multiple jets found in the ocean circulation.
